notes

these are songs that do not play by the rules of logic and organization...  socks that fell behind the  washer.

yùk and pomegranate were both recorded in 1996.  i had a protools and no microphones. so, i rented an akg 414b-uls for a weekend and made some stuff up.  i also had no plug-ins and no outboard gear -the only effect is a mackie 1604 eq.

don't blame it on me was recorded in 1999 or 2000.  zahir played the sax part, which we lifted from another fats domino song, poor me

if i were a fool was written while living on henry's floor when i was not really working on this.  i was listening a lot to the ink spots and the mills brothers.  the song began as an instrumental recorded on my laptop.  the drive wasn't fast enough and so it produced an occasional click in the recording.  i embraced it and added some record crackle, etc.

irene was written and recorded during the time i was working on blue northern.  it didn't really fit in with the rest of that material.

pinna.  i'm going to go with 'nancy was skiing'  again.

where credit is due...

all of these songs were written and performed by adam kay with the exception of the following:  the violin on yùk and if i were a fool was performed by henry jan ...as i recall, he came up with the chord progression on pomegranate as well.  zahir herz played sax on don't blame it on me which was written by fats domino (i think).
